About Us

Hi y'all! I'm Jeana (pronounce liked "Gina"), owner, maker, chief, cook and bottle washer, here at Tumbling J.  Yup. 1-woman show, here.

I was born and raised on a small, family operated cow/calf operation, at the base of the  Spanish Peaks, Huerfano county, in southern Colorado.  I've been at home in  Weatherford, TX since 2009.

I was formerly an elementary teacher and began building mohair tack in 2013 for myself.  At the time, I was looking for a specific collar for my big bay horse, that I couldn't find anywhere, so I decided to build it myself. I learned that the natural fibers of mohair was hands down, the best option.

I learned my craft from my mentor and veteran cinch maker, Rebecca, who has built cinches for over 40 years.

After building only for friends and family, this turned into my full time gig about 3 years later. Now, I'm proud to say that after much diligence, practice and countless mistakes,  I am able to offer you the best handmade mohair tack that is available.  I also do a little silversmithing and metalsmithing. I build what  strikes me at the moment. I build what I like and I hope you'll like it, too!

When I'm not flinging mohair or hammering metal in my shop, I'm usually with my better half, Reece,  horseback, taking care of yearlings, showing in a ranch versatility class or dancing at the Ft. Worth Stockyards.

I'm genuinely grateful that you have stopped by. I hope I'll have the opportunity to serve you and your horse.

~~Jeana
